Testing to see if this comes through. Gina
Thought blogs were one topic at a time. I don’t read long, wordy blogs. Give me a topic please.
It’s not very wordy – let’s be kind here! Topic – choose one – and others will respond if they wish.
Great start! This is going to be a real ‘watering hole’ for those interested in the Sandhills political scene.
Thanks for the warm feedback. Welcome to the watering hole. For the elephants of Moore County!
Hey, MRW members – this is shaping up. Be in on the ground floor of this new blog and give me some ideas – simple ones – for its debut for the rest of the membership and MRW friends. D
Congratulations, Dee, on another job well done!! Keep up the good work! Barbara
Hi! Well, one of my questions was answered! I originally wrote that I had never Blogged before and had trouble with terminology: like “Mail” – is this e-mail or street address? When I went to submit, it gave me a message of invalid “email” address and requested that I reenter – but the screen never returned. Is that an “ooops!” ? However, I’m really looking forward to using this – after I learn how!
Go Girl!!!
What is meant by “comment is awaiting moderation”?
Good question! It means that all comments must be approved, modified, spamed or deleted. It’s the term used by WordPress. I’m going posting my response on the blog so others can read the question and get an answer.
Congratulations, Dee, for another job well done. You make MRW’s web site outstanding. The blog is a great addition.
I’m concerned about so many proposals being put forth by the present administration that it’s difficult to know where to start.I am also concerned about the way the real impact of the proposal is hidden by its title.
The card check bill sounds innocuous but what does it really do ? It takes away an employee’s right to a secret ballot when a union is trying to organize an industry.
Employees are approched by a union organizer who asks them to sign a card as to whether they want to unionize or not. Employees, fearful of repercussions, may sign for unionization but intend to vote against the measure when they cast their ballot in the secret election. However; if 50% of the employees follow suit, there will be no secret balloting.
This is wrong. Voters on all issues should have the option of voting their preferences in secret.
It is well known that unions helped Obama win the November election and now it’s pay back time.
Welcome to MRW’s new blog. I hope that all members will look at it and use it to express their views on the politics of the day. It is a great way to express yourself and share ideas. It also will allow you to stop just yelling at your television set when you get so frustrated with what is going on in Washington. Our lives as we have known them up until now are going to be changed significantly by the present Democrat rule. I expect any day that Obama will declare himself President for life. We have to be strong, pull together and get Republicans elected in the 2010 midterm elections and go right on to 2012. The fight starts now! Lois Mitchell, President MRW
Dee, This website is awesome! You gals in Pinehurst have your act together! We in Forsyth County are a tad behind. Hoping to some of you ladies at the NCFRW
convention this weekend in Greensboro…Keep up your good work! Elizabeth Smith
Over the weekend I heard Republican leaders offer weak comments regarding the nomination Of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court and I must ask why. They have ample ammunition to attack this nomination becuse of Sotomayor’s own words. She has stated that judges make laws and that her experience as an Hispanic woman would lead her to better decisions than those made by a white man. Isn’t this enough for the Republican to mount an agressive campaign against her?
Supreme Court Justices swear to render their decisions according to established laws and our Constitution not according to personal experiences and feelings.
What is wrong with our Republican legislators? The only answer that comes to mind is that they are fearful of losing the Hispanic and the female vote. Are they more concerned with protecting their incumbencies rather than doing what is right for our country? It certainly seems that this is the case.
It’s time to let our legislators know that we do not want a Supreme Court Justice who will employ personal experiences and feelings as criteria when rendering decisions. Write or call your elected oficials if you agree–let them know your feelings. The grassroot’s overwhelming response to last year’s Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill defeated the legislation and we can defeat this nomination too–all we need is 7 Republican Senators voting against it.
Let your feelings be known and help stop our highest court’s progression to becomming a liberal court instead of a court that dispences justice equally to all according to established laws and our Constitution.
